Sensory Lab Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
The sensory position will gain hands on experience in Sensory Science by assisting the sensory lab specialists in the design, organization, and execution of sensory tests. This will include test execution, data collection, data analysis, report writing, and support for product cuttings. Other kitchen responsibilities include kitchen inventory, cleaning protocols, help with shipping, shopping for materials, and other duties as needed. Throughout the program the employee may receive special projects designed to help them stretch their knowledge and expose them to new aspects of the field of sensory.
Pay is between $20-$22/hr, based on experience. Will be discussed during the interview.
M-F; 8:00-12:00 15-30 hours per week.
This is 100% on site.
Education: Current student or Bachelor’s in the following majors encouraged to apply: Food Science, Meat Science, Sensory Science, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Culinary, Psychology, and Statistics majors are preferred.
Experience: Previous lab work experience in any field. Sensory lab experience a plus.
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, familiarity with Word and Power point.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills.
Special Skills: Ability to multitask; motivated self-starter. SERV safe certification a plus.
